Oh! Africa, oh! Sweet motherland Many that is known by most as one From Nigeria, S. Africa, Ghana, Liberia, Senegal, Zimbabwe, Tunisia, Congo, Mali, Morocco, Namibia, Angola, Gabon, Sudan, Egypt, Niger, Ethiopia, Libya, Uganda, Kenya, Cameroon, Togo, Rwanda, Benin, Chad Botswana, Malawi, Zambia, Somali, Burkina Faso, Guinea, Burundi, Sierra Leone, Eritrea, Ivory Coast, Algeria, Tanzania to Gambia Your offspring have been snatched from you time after time You have been ravaged by war, famine, corruption and greed Injustice has plagued you Many have taken advantage of your hospitality and humane nature Health care has eluded your own Your name has become synonymous with poverty, wretch, and HIV Yet, you are truly rich with natural resources, manpower, and brain You are filled with gold, oil, coca, and diamonds Oh! Africa, oh! Sweet motherland Your weather is the envy of many; you are still the happiest place on earth Your landscape is truly the most beautiful of all Despite your problems, your spirit is still very high Hospitality is still your trademark Oh! Proud mama Africa The time has come for your own to rise To band together for your good To declare injustice, corruption, and have no health care outlawed And reinstate you; Africa to a state of glory Oh! Africa, oh! Sweet, sweet motherland I am so proud to be one of your own. « return. |
