Taah! Taah! Somebody has been shot. Taah! Taah! Somebody has been robbed. Taah! Taah! Somebody is dead. Somebody? Who is this somebody? You, me, him or her. If it is him today, It could be her next; It might even be me, Or you, the next time. Did I hear you say impossible? The reality on the ground says it is possible Did I hear you say who are the perpetrators? Your brother, your sister, Your son, your daughter, Your neighbour’s son, your neighbour’s daughter Who caused it? You, me, him and her. How? Lack of care, concern, and assistance. Lack of equity, justice, fairness and general welfare. How do we curb this menace? For individuals, We should be our brothers’ keepers, Instruct and care for our children and those of our neighbours, Show concern, and render assistance within our capacity. For society, Egalitarianism, fair play, justice, And general welfare should prevail. Perhaps, perhaps then We can start having some peace of mind. « return. |
