The ocean waves,
purses its lips
and swoops down
to kiss the sand

The smoothest pebbles
shower my ears with their applause
as they witness this tidal ceremony
firsthand

The sun beams
proudly on the whole affair
all is warmed by the ocean's meeting with
the sandy pebbles
it sounds delightful

The clouds disperse
pulled back to offer privacy
to this courtship in bright sunlight
the blue is bare
three shades:
two ocean
and one up high
over there

The south shore line
snakes along beyond sight
threatening to defy time
taking over priorities
(well, at least postponing mine)
I sit and watch
I sit and listen
I sit and wonder
...it's divine.
