Peace & Conflict   Opinions

The greater the evacuation, the merrier that these naïve leaders are. To them massive emigration means one load off their shoulders- they no longer worry about developing the productive sectors of the economy to absorb the increasing number of employment seekers. Their reasoning: who will need more of anything if there are fewer minds and mouths to voice the demands? Talk about killing two (or any integer you feel appropriate) birds with a single stone!

Today, Nepal is on the brink of social and economic transformation. For this transformation to take place, there should be a break in tradition, in the old ways of thinking and in old paradigms. Let us all hope and pray that the change, so crucial and so direly needed, will ultimately materialize.
