There is a world out there
That I do not know.

It exists, I am sure,
But I have never been there
I have never tasted that food
Smelled those smells
Run on that land
Felt that wind
Or heard that language.

They tell me what it is.
But I have not experienced
The beauty that thrives there
The arguments that fester there
Or the love that sprouts there.

I have, though,
Smiled at those people
In the world out there
That I do not know.
