Souls of my love... Come home Printable Version PRINTABLE VERSION
by Adelusi Oluwafemi Temidayo-Don, Nigeria Apr 24, 2008

Souls of my love are still in exile and lonely:
My little brother Africa in his fantasy
Now running beyond his favourite playground,
Where we are gleeful with warmth, hug unexceptionally and of course,
Kiss for our sweetest life

My beautiful sister before,
Never returned from her far-fetched riverside,
Since the enchantment of her most loved is droned

My aged mother is writhing around in loneliness,
Misting and missing her children
That had distasted the wine of her breast they all fed
And my loving father still in a battle I just wish
Could end now

Souls of my love, scatter over swallow grounds:
Over seas and over lands of Obodo Oyinbo, as good feeding-seeds

I have told your bother, and you too, tell yours, sister
That I am pleased to receive you back from
That pitiful place you dream and please,
Quiet and far away from me, Nigeria
Sequestered of course, that farfetched trend I can fathom

I know my pains and poverty took you away
But come home to strengthen the battled man,
Come to cheer up the dying woman,
Come home to mend and rebuild with thatches
Please come home, your love is missing you from Nigeria, Africa.

Writer Profile
Adelusi Oluwafemi Temidayo-Don

I am not a poet
I only seem like a pen
I am not a crafty writer
I only write my whrits
Script my gifted mouth;
Book my heart in my hands
I just want to spit it out once and for all
You call it an expression or anger
All I just want is to define the norms
To exploit means to do the extra ordinary things
Exceeding normal exist
Setting new standards on a consistency and continuous basis;
And be free at last from oppression, suppression, poverty, war, inferiority complex and other things you know
As for me
All l want to see is CHANGE and FREEDOM everywhere.

May God help me
