Peace & Conflict   Opinions

Kenya: against all odds Kenyans proved to the world that they hold peace close to their hearts! After the elections’ aftermath, we all went down the most ugly track in the history of this country. It was a time when neighbors turned against neighbors, friends against friends!

How does your neighbor for 20 years wake up one day and burn your wife and children? What would cause men of God to stoop that low and discredit the church? Was it just to support the status quo? Who live it up in their Karen (Nairobi’s A class estate) houses as the masses that fight for them suffer in the slums.

It was the most horrible sight to watch TV and see young men burning down houses, beating their neighbors to death! It was a pity, a moment that the status quo in this country must make sure never happens again!

We were losing hope, and in stepped Koffi Annan; he gave Kenyans hope, some light at the end of the tunnel!
He worked tirelessly day and night to give bring Kenya back to normalcy! He never gave up, never showed signs of giving up! He is a man of honour!

With Koffi, our leaders came together, sat on one table, shared a cup of coffee and gave Kenyans what they so badly wanted: peace.
It’s a great moment in Kenya now, watching Raila and Kibaki sit on the same table and have a chat, share a joke, go golfing! This is great! It shows our leaders have matured, and have Kenyans best interests at heart!

As a young Kenyan, I am happy about the peace, I love my country, the people, the land, and I love Kenya!
