Evening news, watch their world lose all control
See destiny’s attempts to re-inform
By seeing beyond your forgetful soul

The maybes and peut-êtres that it stole
Brittle nails, old lungs, a tropical storm
Evening news, watch their world lose all control

See fate’s tired legs after an evening stroll
White, white walls in a quiet college dorm
By seeing beyond your forgetful soul

Watching the grim, grim reaper on a roll
Sporting pure chaos as a uniform
Evening news, watch their world lose all control

Sit back on a cushion, stomach too full
Ignored luxury in a place so warm
By seeing beyond your forgetful soul

Playing with fire, I push and I pull
Finally to the ultimate brainstorm
Evening news, watch the world lose all control
By seeing beyond your forgetful soul
