Friends are Strength Printable Version PRINTABLE VERSION

They are more than a people
They present rugged might in rain
With their help they cover
Providing shield from the weather
Friends challenge us to recover
Telling us we can be better
Even when we seem to be losing they make us feel we’ll still win
Making us know it’s what we can attain
Though some flee in danger
Forsaking us in a manger
With no gold, myth nor frankincense
Then our trouble grow to the mega
And we suddenly feel so bitter
Having friend we then regret
Opening up we repel
So flesh compel us to revenge
Knowing we shouldn’t we feel depressed
And pull back to the former old shell
Knowing we’ll still be vulnerable to another

But some friends stick closer than a brother
Believing only the best of us
They trust GOD to change our flaws
Looking beyond our present faults
Into what we can be
They see us the way GOD does loving us beyond our now
One shall chase a thousand
And two shall put ten thousand to flight
If two shall agree as touching any thing
It shall be done by the FATHER
Joining faith with others produces marvelous power

True friends like Jonathan
They are so hard to find
But make us greater if they are
Giving us supporting shoulder to lean on
Anchor they will be in storm
Just like Timothy to Paul
They can be trusted and rely upon

Often they act like coach
Pushing us out of comfort zone
Happy are you if you’ve found one
Who stretches you to succeed
And hail you on your way up
Ultimately, friends should give an honest feed back
Lovingly point us to areas we need not fall
If friends can’t confront our weakness in love
Tell me who should?
If they can’t believe our vision, future and share our passion
Then who will?
If friends can’t be trusted, who can?
If friends won’t give strength, who will?

Even if I have no strength
I would rather have true friends
Than having strength without friends
For woe to him that stands alone
When he falls who will lift him up?
With whom will he produce heat?
GOD connects us FRIENDS
Knowing we sometimes grow weary
They really are strength.
