A Mother and the Child (A Poem on Global Warming) A mother; Whose eyes were bright like a glacier, are wet now. Whose skin was golden like desert’s sand, is full of cracks now. Whose throat was sweet like a lake’s water, has dried up now. This is all because; A child sitting on her shoulders has removed umbrella over her in sunshine. But she is still carrying the child. Hoping that; The child will again carry umbrella for her. The child will take care of her. Description: this poem is about Global Warming. Here mother represents to the earth and child represents to the human beings. Wet eyes represents the melting of glaciers and other frozen ices. Cracked skin represents growing deserts and dried throat is for reducing drinking water sources. Removal of umbrella in sunshine shows that this is all because of human activities that earth has exposed to more sun heat. Rest is understood……… « return. |
