For it's been 3 years since I lost you to cancer
For I look at your picture everyday
Asking the question, “Why”
But still can't come up with an answer
For this is my first letter to you
Wanting to let you know
Just how much I miss and love you
For you left behind the best part
Of you in me
By giving me the gifts of
The gifts of Inspiration
The gifts of Strength
The gifts of Courage
And Spiritual Direction
So that I can see
For all of my dedications to you
Are in my poetry
So that you can continue
To live on in my words
Words of beauty
Inspiring others to live
Like two harmonious humming birds
For at times I still shed a tear
Reminiscing about the good times
Wishing you were here
For you are like no other
Priceless in my heart
The diamond in my mind
And a million in my soul
For this is my dedication to the women
Known as my "MOTHER"
