The problem that Africans face today started during the Colonial era. When a colonizing country conquered an area, it often groups the many tribes that occupy the area into one area. Some of the tribes have feuded for many years, and they were grouped toghether, which later led to them fighting each other after the area gained independence..
Also, the government did not train the locals to rule themselves, resulting in ineffective governance and oppression. The above are the main reason why the continent is in turmoil today. Tribal warfares, warfares for personal gains and ineffective government led to the Africa today.
The situation today can only be cured by an effective government that can represent all the people living in the area and can resolve inter-tribal conflicts.
Such a task is monumental, considering the history of governments in Africa, bur humans tend to become smarter after each experience. I am ure that Africans, after so many experiences, can learn from it and make their country more effective in ruling themselves. The people of Africa, so long suffered in warfare, ineffective government and sometimes oppression, can, one day, rule themselves in a proper manner and bring peace and prosperity to this war-torn continent.
