He had to rise at 3:00 AM every day To earn some money to make his way. His family relied on him for food He promised to provide- And his word was good. This is my life he thought As he haggled daily with customers For the goods they sought. Sweat dripping over his brow As he leaned over his plow Back bent with the load Heat rising from the road Head burning,face tanned through The sign read: Complaining BANNED! Thank you. Till one day his overworked worn-out body Decided it had enough misery And gave out...cold. So here lies Ahmed Hassan the Palestinian- 9 years, 4 months, and 12 days old. « return. |
