When the environment becomes the enemy Printable Version PRINTABLE VERSION
by Henry Ekwuruke, Nigeria Aug 1, 2007
Environment   Poetry

Terribly in doubt of progress
Being optimists in the sake of nature’s curse
A nature built in humanity for humans
In checks and balances versus excesses

Cracked down to pieces my dreams of restoration
People saw life and hated life in scale
Loved by all but a few in barrier establishment
The privileged danced into the unprivileged nature

The friend made had already turned our enemy
We ought to fight her before attack
A self-defense war evolved in caution
But not without the iota of want from defender

The friend that cooperates with us has disobeyed
The day is gone and a lot is happening without counter
Let us see possibilities documented
Respect is lost in mutual trust by the duo

Betrayal occurred and one is to be blamed
But the ‘complaint’ has turned the accused
We see a wasted generation in prospective
Further action prevents, but a permanent enemy established!
