Suffering yet smiling Behind the smile is a sense of loss Loss of childhood to hard labour Loss of childhood to child labour Suffering yet smiling Behind the smile is a sense of desperation Behind the smile is a sense of frustration Behind the smile is a feeling of vulnerability Suffering yet smiling They are children, hopeless and helpless The are the abused leaders of tomorrow Even in their predicament, they smile They are children, suffering yet smiling « return. |
