Discrimination Printable Version PRINTABLE VERSION

Human Rights , Peace & Conflict   Poetry

Discrimination comes in all forms
Racial, religious, sexuality, age
And a host of many others
It has the capacity to maim and destroy
It perpetuates a sense of anger and frustration
It breeds hostility and resentment
It spurs violence and racism
Discrimination hides under the cloak
Of tradition and government policies
Discrimination breeds annihilation and isolation
It removes people from the community of mankind
Discrimination violates people's freedoms
It undermines progress and prosperity
Discrimination leads to internalised hostility
It paralises hopes, dreams and aspirations
Discrimination is an enemy of humanity
It undermines our very existence
So, how about a paradigm shift?
