The question concerning the acceptance and validity of the Darwin’s theory of Human Evolution –theory concerning the emergence of humans as distinct species- has always been a debate. The theory of human evolution itself has many underlying ideas and reason which have led to the formulation of it. The most influencing background is the society on which the theory of evolution was formulated. People in the early of 19th century were really accepted the materialistic philosophy which argues that matter has existed by itself to support human life. This view led people to separate religion with science and violates the intervention of religious beliefs in real life. Furthermore, as the important science theory invented, people became in need of concrete and scientifically acceptable evidence to explain the artificial question of how human was existed and how the prehistoric human be able to survive from harsh competition due to a difficult living condition. However, the theory of evolution still contains aspects that may lead into debates and arises two mainstream view of believing the Darwin’s theory of evolution, the pros and the contras.
Darwin’s theory of human evolution as the most acceptable theory of human evolution has so many theoretical evidences that may led into the increasing beliefs on it. The first evidence is the similarity of human fossils found in several places in the world. These fossils contains similar mineral compound with the mineral found in apes, showing that human is truly be a changing agent who greatly changed from an apes (Pithecanthropus Erectus) becomes a perfect current human (Homo Sapiens). The second evidence is the vestigial organs which are structures or organs that serve no useful function but being useful in other species. For example, the vestigial tail bone in humans is not useful but is homologous to the functional tail of other primates. Thus, organisms having vestigial structures probably share a common ancestry with organisms in with organisms in which the homologous structure is functional. The next evidence is the biochemistry which also reveals similarities between organisms of different species. Biochemistry on metabolism shows the universality of cytochrome c which proved that all aerobic organisms probably descended from a common ancestor that used this compound for respiration.
Although Darwin’s theory of human evolution was undoubtedly during the early until the middle of 19th century, this theory has been criticized during the late of 19th century by both scientist and people who believe in God. This condition is much influenced by the recent socialistic era which starts to eliminate the materialistic philosophy and accept the pascasercularism view. Due to this view, people start to view the creation of human and the universe in different sight. Furthermore, the Darwin’s theory of human evolution has also been proved that is lack of actual evidence. The natural selection stated by Darwin is unable to be proven as a way of evolution. Moreover, gene mutation which convinced by the early scientist cannot proven as a way of evolution.
The theory of human evolution is always be an interesting debate because science and technology will always improved and shows the most updated information to support this theory. On the other hand, the conviction of the theory of evolution is also influenced by the common view and beliefs of common society on how they view this theory. In conclusion, there is a free decision regarding to the conviction of the Theory of Human Evolution because the both mainstream side of viewing evolution have their strong evidence to be believed.

Un-clear Debate Yogi Harsudiono | Dec 7th, 2007
Is it possible that actually what is called "human" by God is not really "human" by our definition? if the answer is yes, then we know already that there is no use in confronting the view of both parties you have mentioned before since there is no clear definition of what "human" really is. Is it possible that "Adam" and "Eve" is actually not a Homo Sapiens as we have already assume? Is it possible that our ancestors that are mentioned in many of the Holy Books is actually evolved over time, from Phitecanthropus Erecturs to the late Homo Sapiens?
One thing for sure, knowledge and science are the tools that our ancestors used in order to survive in their era, from Adam and Eve (they use simple technology such as knife and axe to do hunting) to Tom Hanks (as he trying to survive in his "Cast away" film).
