Media   Poetry

All we see is a perfect face
No flaws around
Not in any given scene
We stare closely to only see
How perfect the media can be
We look closer and find flaws in ourselves
Which should never be the case
Considering we are the ones
Who can change the media
And how it seems
Until that day comes
Then we will see
That perfect will always be in ourselves
But it's realizing that it can't be seen

PERFECT?
katie | Jun 23rd, 2007
Perfect is a conceeded statement, even if your writting a poem to encourage empathy and the "natural" beauty of society, rather than the comparison of avredge joes and celeberties. There is no "PERFECT". What media shows us isnt even perfect. And for some one to believe it is, is silly. I can understand the need to be liked, but that is easily broken down in my article about Judgement. And when you say: We are the ones who can change the media, then stop writing poetry about how sad it is to have to live by these standards, and actually try to change the media. Im sorry, its a nice poem, but, sometimes people are so intentionally nieve. your poem is lovely Chealse, and I believe you can relate to its contents and probley ALOT more, but there is more important things in your life that will hit your plate other than the standards television and gossip magazines set for you. your peers, your mom, your past problems and addictions. -katie.
