The Rebel Poet
(For Ebereonwu)

The propensity for you
to have known love
from all who love you
was truncated by the hater of our existence
but accept this wriggle of my mind
as a token of love from a lover.

A lot of poets proliferated by your poesies;
Obinali, the peristyle to the world of literature.
Obinali, the inflammation of membrane
lining the walls of the abdomen.
Obinali, you perjured this mind by your sudden expiration.
Obinali, you have frozen these mortals mentally.
Obinali, at this point the planet's orbit
seems to be nearest to the sun.

The rebel poet, who believed not in Wordsworth!

The ebullient elegant literature explorer
no one has used an auxiliary word on you
in place of an inflected form since
the Good Friday that turned bad Friday.

In the New-age 2004 first I heard of you.
In The Sun 2007 second I heard of you.

The pedant! Pandemonium has broke loose
and we lull the heart to tranquility
but there is muscular pain in the lumber region
because you were an instrument with mirrors
brought to us to reflect a view down the minds
so that a poet may get poesy
as from a level above that of his eyes.
