Environment , Peace & Conflict   Poetry

We pack our bags,
Embarking on a journey we know not its destination.
With broken HEARTS and shattered DREAMS,
We take up the pieces of what is left of us,
Hoping for a better life in a foreign land.
A land with endless opportunities, where dreams come true.

The journey seems unending,
With empty bellies and tired legs,
We dream of a land where we would find peace.
Away from all the fighting,
Away from all the economic hardships, toils and disappointments of life.
Yes the journey is a risk, a risk we must to restore our dreams.

OH! My heart is burdened,
With a thousand questions begging to be answered.
Alas what happens to our fatherland?
Must we leave because of the challenges we face?
Must we leave at a time when we are most needed?
If we all leave,
who would be there to restore HER glory?
