Solution to poverty Printable Version PRINTABLE VERSION
by Sean Amos, Kenya Apr 20, 2007
Culture , Globalization   Opinions

I firmly believe that eradication of poverty is a pre-condition for a real and sustainable development. The widespread poverty in Africa constitutes structural limitations for the choices and opportunities of young people as well as the denial of their hope, self confidence, self respect and dignity.
I believe that only a participatory process based on a proper analysis of the situation, a definition of the strategies and a design of the methodologies geared by the partner organizations in Africa is good for the young people in Africa. Nevertheless, I also believe in the need to establish a global commitment (including a generational one) that helps us to develop workable strategies to overcome existing obstacles to eradicate poverty. Foreign unpayable debt is an external obstacle for poverty eradication in many of the African countries. I reaffirm my commitment and call for debt cancellation and its reinvestment to strengthen civil society, and in activities aimed at community development and responsible leadership

Debt cancellation
Nekesah | Jun 7th, 2007
Its not just about debt cancellation but how willing are our leaders capable of playing by the rule of justice?Putting resources where they should be put? Debt cancellation will only work if at all leaders, you and I not excluded, will be honest enough to live a corrupt free and straight life.
