Clothing from yesteryear have made a comeback. This trends have been resurfacing and have become a must have for every trend setter in their closets. But on the other hand hip-hop has the greatest influence on how we dress or the latest stuff we cop from the market. Everything seems to be directly or indirectly hip-hop inspired. Anyway lets get to the details on the "Got to Have It."
There has been a resurgence of fronts(read iced teeth), though it hasn't caught up, it is more profound than some years back. Most of people are copping gold coated teeth but only the canine which is the tooth of choice to be coated. Its not only guys who are getting but I have also noticed a couple of gals out there. Everybody seems to be more concerned with what they think is best for them than what other people think about their style.
It also depends with the weather, however, I have seen girls folding their jeans capris style, looks good but its casual. I have also seen enough guys doing the official coat with jeans and sneakers. This style was popularized by the Longombas, but was also evident in most music videos esp with Usher.
Guys cop their hottest stuff from various places, diversity is the idea here. From Maasai market to the hawker "palaces" in those allies, from Sun-beam to Woolworth's. I guess you get the point. For me it depends on what I want.
Due to where I work, most of the time I have to wear officially this means I have to look official from Monday to Thursday because Friday is casual dress day for all. Friday you get to be creative, damn, some guys wear weird clothes. Obviously for guys it is must have to cop the shirts with cuffs, they are classy and give you a cut above the rest. I have a nice suit and a matching Italian shoes which is deadly combination. During the weekends, I have to put on the ice, for the watches get the ones with spinners, some spin for seconds while the more expensive ones spin for longer periods.
For electronics, iPODs have become a must have though I have yet to own one because I got a laptop which is a great necessity. Desktop computers have become common place so no one notices, laptops with great stats/specs are the in-thing. For PC games, there are portable play stations which i have seen with a couple of guys.
About the labels, it depends with interests and preferences, but i got Reebok (Allen Iverson) sneakers, Sean John and Fubu. Sean John being an international brand is popular with guys around though there are lot of counterfeits around that don't last.
