Earth is suffering from symptoms of rapid increase of global warming, acid rain, water pollution, and air pollution. The cause of these deadly symptoms is deforestation. Deforestation is the removal of trees from forest. The rate these symptoms are increasing is quite alarming. I believe if care is not taken the earth won’t be a lovely place for human being to live. Limited Brands is a group of companies that American and Canadian trust because they claim to be a good global citizen to these two countries. However Limited Brands is responsible for the mass mailing of catalogs made from virgin paper within these nations I believe that Mr. Wexner the CEO of Limited Brands, needs to live up to his company’s claim of being a good global citizens by increasing the use of recycled paper and reducing the use of virgin paper in his company catalogs .
Limited Brands can use recycled paper to print their catalogs, which I know will save the company money spent on a virgin paper made catalogs. The company making use of recycled paper to print their catalogs will have a great effect on deforestation because lesser trees will be cut in the northern Boreal forest of Canada and southern United State. Using recycled paper will provide these mentioned countries sustainable paper production system. It will save trees, energy, water, landfill space, watersheds, and ecosystems and produces less pollution than virgin paper production
Limited Brands can reduce the use of virgin paper in many ways. One of the ways the company can do this is by making use of the internet. Using the electronic mailing system will reduce the use of virgin paper and deforestation that exposes United State and Canada to some deadly disasters such as hurricane, erosion, desert, encroachment, pollution, and much more. I believe this way will reduce the financial budget of catalogs made virgin paper, and I know Mr. Wexner will want the company total profit to be more than their total expenditure. In conclusion the company needs to prove to residents Canada and USA that they are a good global citizen. To prove this, Mr. Wexner must considerably reduce the use of virgin paper and make use recycled in his company catalogs.
