Counterfeit Love Printable Version PRINTABLE VERSION
by friday solomon, Netherlands Mar 14, 2007
Media   Poetry

loneliness overtakes sadness
depression takes the place of disenchantment
though standing I am
deeply pressed down
it is like in a standstill
brightness turned totally bleak

what has happened
what has love done
love is so unfair
it went away as quickly as it came
with no legs love runs faster than the cheater.
Its eyes like that of an eagle pierced its victims sore
and with its sharp claws snatched it away while yet alive

he embraced love when it came by
it was fairer
to behold than diamonds
its beauty radiated like the glorious morning sun.
With love all was sweet and
supple
it was like a lather to the high heavens
its cool breeze transcended the tranquil soul
the hearts longed for it as the earth longs for rain.

o´counterfeit love, o´counter love ,
come not thou near me
you wax older while you are yet young
you will soon fade away.
Wish not for counterfeit love.
Embrace love while it is yet nigh.
When it is gone you might never find it
Don't lose love
it is the one thing that makes some alive

I love writing because it gives me joy to be able to release my stress,my frustration and anger on governments the world over on the ills, the inequalities and indifferent attitudes taking place in their communities.I am happy that TIG offers such a portal to pick up my idle pen and paper and pass issues across for other people to read. This enables me to also to read issues affecting other people across the world, together we can press on with the struggle and impart our various communities.Inspired greatly by my Lord and Saviour Jesus, Amen.
