DEATH: DARKNESS TO LIGHT.

Life has been described as a long preparation for death. Death is also ever lasting birth by Islam. Ever since life originated, The cycle of birth and death has continued ceaselessly. All life forms, Whichever kingdom they belong to – plants, animals or human are destined to die. Every thing in world has a life span.

Even inanimate objects undergo mutation over time. Then why we are afraid of death? Is it because death will, all too suddenly, transport us from light to darkness, from known areas to unknown one? Is our fear of death the unknown? Why don’t we welcome death? We should. We are going back where we belong, you don’t from where you came, then why to afraid where you were going. May be life is fuel to lighten your birth after death.

When we see death at close quarters, the inquiring mind repeatedly ask the same unanswered questions. Why for what purpose we have been sent to this world. Where did the person who was alive just a few minutes before, go after his death?.

Why and from where did we come and whereto we from here? The mind wounded the soul, which is said to be indestructible, immortal and permanent, went after being freed from its mortal freed from its mortal coils.

The soul cannot operate independent of the body. Then where and in what form will the soul be till it gets into womb of a pregnant woman and gets new body?.

How much time will elapse between death and the assumption of a new body? Such is our gross ignorance on such fundamental questions, that we go on asking them, without getting plausible and verifiable answers….

We shed copious tears at the death of loved one; not realizing the tomorrow it will be our turn. Death doesn’t follow the queue system. First come, first go, is not necessarily observed. The manner, time and place of death are all known and unknowable, too.

The only welcome aspect about death is that it is a great reliever of pain, misery and suffering. It brings to an end our troubles, trails, tribulations, and travails.

So even though death is dreaded, it is l welcomed by many harassed people . it is longed for by the terminally ill, the destitute and those who say they nothing whatsoever to look forward to in life. For them death is a release from worldly sufferings.

Nature perpetuates the species. Man dies, but the human species might survive for a long time to come. Death and renewal go on side by side ceaselessly and relentlessly.
