LOVE

AH! What is Love? It is a pretty thing,
As sweet unto a shepherd as a King,
And sweeter too;
For Kings have cares that wait upon a crown
And cares can make the sweetest Love to frown.

How do I Love thee? Let me count the ways
I love thee with a Love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints, - I love thee with the breath,
Smile, tears, of all my life! - if God choose,
I shall but Love thee better after death.

Oh my love’s like a red, red, rose.
That’s newly sprung in June;
Oh my Love’s like the melody
That’s sweetly played in tuned.

Why do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
To see her is to love her,
And love but her forever,
For nature made her what she is,
And never made another

Oh my love’s like a red, red, rose.
That’s newly sprung in June;
Oh my Love’s like the melody
That’s sweetly played in tuned

Where love is great, littlest doubts are fear,
When little fear grows, great Love grows there.
