Dear fellow members,
Five years ago, two young Canadians dreamed of harnessing the power of the Internet to enable youth around the world to create a better world. Five years later, their idea is reality and nurtures hundreds of thousands of connections, projects, conversations, and relationships.
The future holds greater challenges for our generation. As never before, we need youth involvement in making a difference in communities worldwide. A generation that has no sense of purpose is the greatest curse that humanity can ask for.
TakingITGlobal offers doorways and spaces for youth to discover that individual and collective purpose. Without the support—financial and otherwise—of friends, members, foundations, corporations, philanthropists and insightful global citizens worldwide, initiatives like this cannot survive.

Help Us Light Up Our Birthday Cake!
This August and September, for every $10,000 we raise, we will be able to light one candle on our birthday cake - each candle one step closer to our fundraising goal of $50,000.
For a minimum donation of $30, you will be recognized as a birthday supporter and will receive a thank you card signed by all TIG staff. And as a true sign of our appreciation, a symbol of your support in the form of a birthday cake will be added to your member profile page for one year.
Why a goal of $50,000? Well for starters, $50,000 reflects our operating costs for just one month. We don't expect our members to uphold our entire budget, however we do want to be transparent about what it takes to keep TIG running every month, and now every year. But more than that, $50,000 is an attainable goal when members respond as a community. Each individual gift is just a tiny fraction of the whole 'cake' but we believe in our members' commitment to TakingITGlobal and their desire to give back through whatever means they can. We know that not every member has $30 to give, but we also know the power of initiative when it comes to fundraising.
Your birthday gift will enable the people behind TIG to keep doing what we're doing - working for youth and working for you! Your gift will help ensure that TIG will be around to celebrate many more birthdays to come.
