Human Rights   Poetry

My feelings are defined as not African
Because I am a woman that has feelings for
Another woman instead of a man

Isolated by my society
So I can learn that I am not African
If I am a lesbian.

Now my Body is covered with my blood
But as my heart beats
For the last time I want to tell you,
You are not an African
Because Africans do not kill.

This is not a poem

Regarding the writer's view about killing, she said that "You are not an African Because Africans do not kill" forgetting that warring and killing started from creation. And even, before the said colonialists invaded Africa, Africans were warring and killing themselves in inter-tribal wars. So the writer should know that war is not meant for any continent. And coming to lesbianism or what? that is unethical and unantural in the whole of world's history. Suffice it to say that it is DIRTY

Your poem reminded me a lot of an article by Jacob Rukweza, Gays and Lesbians of Zimbabwe (GALZ), published recently.
