Terror of Death

Screams of women everywhere,
Cries of children as men run allover
Then barks, moos, meows and hoots
Trouble is knocking, everyone’s scared,
Then a sudden silence.

Laughter’s, unbreakable
Music all over, men and women dancing,
Sounds of glasses as people ‘cheers’,
Alcohol’s like water, quenching thirst,
All of a sudden, screams, then fear conquers
Then a sudden silence.

Yes it’s the terror of death,
The poor fear it as the rich
Alcohol too, evaporates bringing reality,
The animals know it,
They know its time, time to die
Then a sudden silence
