It’s hard to say what I can tell about Russia. I’ll try to explain my view and thoughts, though.
Russia has its own history, traditions and customs, various types of nature and climate, nationalities and ways of life. It is the largest country in the world, so we even cannot say that we live in Russia this way. We have 11 time zones and millions of life styles. But we are all Russians and we have the same problems, one president and government, and we speak the same language.
In this respect we are all similar; we have many things in common with people in other countries. We live on the same planet and we are all humans with a great diversity of problems, which we all have been trying to solve for centuries. In my opinion modern Russia is not a scary civilization as some foreigners think, it is just a different part of the
Earth and we are like you.
Last school year I went to the USA. I participated in an exchange programme (Freedom Support Act) and was one of its winners. I lived with an American family and studied in school for 10 months. I had a wonderful opportunity to learn a lot about the USA and talk about Russia.
I am very happy that I was born in Russia. It is a very beautiful country in all meanings. Every corner has something special and unforgettable. You may say it is because it is my native land, but it is not the only reason. Tourists and guests, whom I talked to, agree with me. They like our nature, cities, and architecture.
Russia is famous for its museums, theatres and other cultural places. I have a great time in the city club of managers New Civilization. This organization is well-known and works in different cities. We visit and communicate with other branches, too. We learn a lot about the country, economy, ecology, sport, tourism, government, politics, leadership, and how to be good citizens, as we are the future of Russia.
I have almost finished high school, I went to dancing school, and I am learning two foreign languages (English and French). I am a member of the New Civilization programme and I love to visit various places and countries and to meet new people.
By the way, once I was a mayor of my home city Angarsk. It was a project for teenagers to rule the city for one day. We had real elections which is how I became a mayor. It was not just fun, we had problems to deal with like a real government.
There is too much to say about modern Russia and modern people that live in it. It is a great country and you are welcome to come and visit it. We would love to have you!
