Child & Youth Rights   Poetry

Pink in a day she was born she cried.
Her mother looked at her and smiled.
You would assume the mother's tears
Were those of joy because she brought life to earth,
That she gave birth to a beautiful daughter Ntando,
But no she wept because she knew,
They were no going to be together for long.
Her (mother) face is filled with sorrow.
She gave her little Ntando a kiss,
And slept her last sleep.
She died because she had AIDS.
How sad.
