Buck Collector Printable Version PRINTABLE VERSION
by Reality, Nigeria Jan 3, 2004
Child & Youth Rights   Poetry

Accursed you were from Eden,
From a singular act made infamous
It was enough to span eternity
From hence, you became the fall taker
Blamed for every fall in virtue
More hated than the Sinai scapegoat

If there were a mistake,
If there were an evil done,
It was you as has always been.
It seems so it will be.
The good hate you even the bad,
Though you take the rap for them.

Will there ever be an end to it?
Victim of singular act!
But mankind is free to keep off thee
Hence they aren’t justified.
Eternal buck collector!
There is no sorrow like thine.

I come alive when I write and the feeling that those few lines may impact positively on a soul unknown to me or even elicit a smile makes it a worthwhile endeavour.
