I Am Printable Version PRINTABLE VERSION
by Miss Ramones, United States Dec 30, 2003
Child & Youth Rights   Poetry

I am a lone flower in the cracked cement
I am like a rose with many layers
I resemble in body a person standing in white while the world is in black
I resemble in spirit a light lost in the dark
I imagine the future and all it’s wonders
I care about the crying child without its parents
I am me

I will be powerful and stand tall against the tide
I can do what I choose
I cannot live without identity
I am standing here looking out
I want significance
I often say what’s on my mind
I have heard others say what is on the crowd’s mind
I guess things are about to change
I know myself like the back of my hand
I regret my self-isolation in the one lone room
I am me
