Thorns and Roses Printable Version PRINTABLE VERSION

On this great continent soil
Kept by many a people's toil
All our effort disasters do foil
Wars and famine in every community boil
Every heart in fear recoil
Our children in poverty coil
Even in countries God gave oil
Thorns only grow on this soil.

Now the hour is here
He that wants life should hear
That there is no reason to fear
Though garments of shame now we wear
And our soil be wet with our tears
One day roses the African soil will bear
Cause peace will be there!
