In Bangladesh, there is a lot of natural gas. British and American companies have taken this from the people of the country. This was easy; the whole country including the government is corrupt, for this is what eventually happens to a 3rd World Country ruled by American Capitalism. The US can get the Bangladeshi government to do anything, whoever they are, as the US is the main aid and loan source for Bangladesh. Right now, Bangladesh has given up more than millions of its citizens to the American military conscription, to be used in Iraq, so that Bangladesh can get more loans off the US.
The US uses Bangladesh as a 'basket case'. All the surplus food in America is shipped to Bangladesh as aid, whether it is needed or not, so that the food markets in the US stay stable, and prices are kept high. The aid is not given to the poor. Instead, it is sold off. In Bangladesh, the only market is the bootleg and black market. I went to a few shops, and most of the containers read "Food Aid".
All the Oil and petrol companies in Bangladesh are US owned, with a few British remaining. With the Middle Eastern countries next door, the oils all around the place are probably owned by the US and UK Oil Companies anyway. All the beverage companies, except PRAN, are American. Products that are home-based in America, are sold here in Bangladesh. Thus misleading people to believe that Bengali Cola, is actually from Bangladesh.
The main reason for the corruption in Bangladesh is the poverty and the American induced capitalism. Capitalism does not work in 3rd countries, but America would have you believe otherwise, because capitalism worked for them, in regards to the African-American populations.
Another issue that has fall victim t the corruption is the sales in airline tickets, thus resulting in invalid tickets. The sales are based on the people who are willing to pay the most for it. The only airline to have its own ticket office is the British Airlines, “The Corporate Giant of Our Skies” A related issue is when my cousin lost his ticket in Bangladesh, and the BA graciously sent him a new one, free of charge. However, when we flew with the Bengali Airline, we had to fly back with Emirates, which meant dishing out an extra £1,500! On top of the original £1,100 for the original return tickets we had.
So you can see how Bangladesh is being used by the UK and US, and being completely taken advantage of. Remember, the point of Capitalism in 3rd World Countries, is that the 1st World Countries can feed off them and stay 1st World. It’s not a coincidence, that all the Major Drinks companies, Oil Companies and BA rule those sectors of the Markets. It is because the US has supreme control over the Bengali government, and is constant in abusing its power.
