Troubled, deaf heavens with unheard
Cries, the chatter of loud intruding bombs
Disturbs and places man in
Disgrace with other mens eyes!
Let my people look upon themselves, look
Inwards, not to windward and curse
Themselves, their heavens, let them make
Hope outcaste! Let them stop seeking hope
‘Where hope is a vain hope!’
Do not sing hymns, when the ears
Of god are distant. Despise yourselves, when
Thoughts of another mans wife come to mind!
But know, alas, all hope,
Would be renewed!
