Welcome to the Dispatch

Each month the TakingITGlobal Online Community 'features' a different Issue page in our Understanding the Issues section. Hopefully focusing on a new topic each month has encouraged you to browse content and inform yourself on issues you might not normally seek out. For the month of October the Online Community will be featuring our Sexuality Issue page, which can be a difficult topic to discuss openly, especially where young people are concerned. During the month of August we asked TakingITGlobal members to write about sexuality and why it is important to maintain an ongoing discussion about how it affects our lives, our health, and our rights. The end result is Panorama's 'Dialogue on Sexuality' Issue.

We encourage you to seek out information on sexuality that is relevant to you, keep yourself informed on your sexual rights, and keep the discussion going.

Featured Country: Poland

Featured Country: PolandNext month the whole world will be turning to Poland, specifically to the city of Poznan, where major world leaders, UN officials, activists, and researchers will gather to continue international discussions and negotiations on Climate Change. Poland is located in Central Europe bordering on the Baltic Sea to the North and became a member of the European Union in 2004. Poland's position at the meeting point of multiple European empires and powerful states has meant that it has been partitioned several times and has also served as a key battleground in multiple wars. This has brought many hardships, of all the countries involved in World War II Poland lost the highest percentage of it's civilian population: over 6 million people. Currently Poland is emerging as a strong and vibrant democratic state, it has been one of several countries to see significant improvements to its economy as a result of EU membership.

Visit the Poland country page on TIG to learn more and browse through contributions made by our Polish members, like graphic artist Bartek!
