Welcome to the Dispatch
[t]TakingITGlobal as an Online Community, and as an organization, respects and values your personal Freedom of Expression as a TIG member and an individual. There are so many avenues for you to express yourself within the TakingITGlobal community, from your own personal TIGblog to the forums of our Discussion Boards. You can let your creative energies flow by displaying your artwork in our Global Gallery or writing a piece for our online magazine Panorama, and share your own personal stories and experiences by submitting a Member Story. The ability to express ourselves, share our opinions and be heard is often taken for granted, but it is something that is denied to individuals all over the world. Take advantage of the outlets for expression that you have in front of you and get heard!

Creativity on TIG
A new issue of Panorama was launched during Global Youth Service Day celebrations, April 25-27, called 'Giving Back'. In this issue TIG members shared volunteer experiences and approaches to volunteering in their own communities. Hopefully it will inspire those of you who have yet to have their own experience to volunteer your time to a worthy cause in your own community! Read it here.
[t]The Youth Voices Global Gallery Contest will be accepting your submissions on 'Culture & Identity' and 'Climate Change' until May 22nd. All submissions will be considered for publication in an upcoming TIG Magazine which will debut at the World Youth Congress in Québec City in August 2008!

Agents of Moral Courage
TakingITGlobal has begun a partnership with Project Ijtihad, the progressive Muslim organization founded by author, filmmaker and dissident Irshad Manji. Project Ijtihad's mission is to bring reform-minded Muslims and non-Muslim allies together to explore the most challenging issues of our time. For example - can faith coexist with freedom of expression? What responsibility do we have to dissent within our own communities for the sake of a greater good?
In a new feature, Project Ijtihad is featuring 'Agents of Moral Courage' on TakingITGlobal's website. Agents of Moral Courage are Muslims and non-Muslims who have taken the risk of disagreeing with their own communities in order to protect human rights. Be sure to check out the monthly feature on Agents of Moral Courage, and click here to learn more about how you can get involved in Project Ijtihad's work for human rights and freedom of expression.
This month's Agents of Moral Courage are Mohamed Adam Yahya and Suad Monsour - refugees from Darfur who have demanded greater action from their communities to end the genocide in Sudan. Past features have included young Muslim singer Deeyah, who has used her talents to work against honour killings.
