Disability Theme Page, Two Surveys and More Ways to Make Change
We really like hearing from you.
Last month, two events in the Dispatch caught your interest - Lived Rights and the 2006 Youth Employment Summit. Thank you for your questions and comments on these items (not to mention your warm wishes for the new year). When you connect with an item in the Dispatch, we want to hear about it. Connections and conversations can make our world a more familiar and welcoming place. We know so many of you are enriching our online community and your own local communities with your zeal and heart. For our part, we will continue to dispatch the news, events and opportunities for you to connect with.
In solidarity,
The TakingITGlobal Team

MDG Youth Action Guide: Soon in Russian
TakingITGlobal, with kind support from Oxfam GB and United Nations Association of Russia, is now working on developing the Russian version of the Millennium Development Goals Youth Action Guide, a publication educating youth on the MDGs and providing easy-to-follow advice on how to lead your own MDG project. We are hoping to have it printed in March and then distribute the publication among youth action groups, NGOs, and student associations. For further details, feel free to contact Sofya at sofya@takingitglobal.org. The MDG Youth Action Guide is already available in English, French, and Spanish at: http://mdg.tigweb.org.
Next Panorama Issue: Living with Disabilities
Around the world, millions of people are affected by disabilities. Many are living full lives, but persons with disabilities are often forced to the margins of society. The aim of this issue of Panorama is to promote an understanding of disability issues among young people and mobilize support for the dignity, rights and well-being of persons with disabilities.
Help us present alternate visions of what constitutes disability through the experiences of young people around the globe. We are accepting articles until February 17.
Submit to the Living With Disabilities issue here: https://www.tigweb.org/express/panorama/content.html?IssueID=65
