![]() Monthly Theme: Food The World Food Programme and Walk the World have partnered with TakingITGlobal to bring you the 'Food' Monthly Theme! What is your relationship to food? All of us need it, some of us grow it, many of us cook it, but how many question it? TakingITGlobal's monthly theme is your opportunity to learn about important food topics like hunger, genetically modified foods, nutrition, vegetarianism, water, and more. Celebrate food, by sharing your personal stories and views, photographs, not to mention your recipes! Plus, find out ways to put your knowledge and concern into action. From small actions you can take in your own life, to larger strategies - celebrate, reflect and act on TakingITGlobal's Monthly Theme on Food. Click here! ![]() Language as Violence, Violence as Language ![]() The goals of the publication are to spotlight the manifold forms of violence that young people encounter, perceive, and express in their daily social environment with the ultimate aim of actively exploring and developing 'alternative languages to violence.' The primary objective is therefore to shed some light on the multiple dimensions of the causes, contents, nature, and consequences of violence(s). A vital step within this challenge is the understanding of the issues. Issues that are complex often lead to a difficult dialogue, with the overcoming of barriers as the first step in meeting the challenge of understanding people of different races, cultures, ethnicities, gender and backgrounds. But who can review the situation of young people better than young people themselves? The UN General Assembly has already recommended three times that Member States include a youth representative in their delegations, but unfortunately still only a few countries do so. You can find out if your country is sending a youth delegate by visiting the website of the UN Youth Program. Click here! You can also find useful information there on how to become a youth delegate if your country is one of those that do not have a program to select youth delegates. ![]() TakingITGlobal joins the Russian e-development partnership In order to expand the project on youth participation through the use of ICTs implemented by TIG and partners in Russia, TIG joined the Russian e-development partnership (PRIOR).
