Announcing Imprints Art Contest Winners!
Tread Lightly and the Staples Foundation are excited to announce the winners of the Imprints Art Contest, a contest in which youth were challenged to communicate their views on the environment by submitting an original piece of creative artwork. Contest winners were announced during an international video conference, which brought together students and teachers from various regions to commemorate Earth Day by sharing and discussing their artwork. Second prize in the contest went to Thai Soe Thaw from Edmonton, Canada, and the third prize winner was Teresa di Curzio from Italy. Check out all the finalists and entries. Thank you to all who participated in the contest, and congratulations to the winners!

Ranga Day and DeforestACTION
On May 27th, Schools around the world hosted 'Ranga Day' - a day of action to raise awareness and funds for DeforestACTION. DeforestACTION brings youth from around the world to collaborate in a project to stop the destruction of rainforests, and create a sustainable habitat for orangutans. With the disappearance of forests and the loss of wildlife, staff and students as Taroona High School took the initiative to launch Ranga Day, which is now becoming a global action event. Join the global community and rally your friends, family, colleagues and classmates in taking part and taking action. Get the word out and hold your own Ranga Day event to support the project. You can wear red for the day, hold a movie night (such as GreenTheFilm), and encourage guests to make a donation to buy back land in Borneo for orangutans at $2 per sq meter. Donate at www.deforestaction.com

We wish you a wonderful week!
