NewsAction Competition awards Reader's Choice Prize
As part of the NewsAction Challenge, the reader's choice competition awarded an iPad to the student whose article garnered the majority of Facebook "likes". The competition closed at midnight on January 31st, with Washington International School junior Gonzalo Paz-Soldan's What's next for WikiLeaks? article receiving 1, 352 likes! Gonzalo did a remarkable job marketing his piece and more than tripling his friend network on Facebook! The Pearson Fellowship for Social Innovation Kicks Off Its First Week
The Pearson Fellowship for Social Innovation has kicked off its first week of inauguration on January 24 with The Manifesto Of Encouragement. The chosen individuals are young leaders who have taken a great idea and developed it during the Sprout E-course. The twelve selected youths will use the skills they develop during the e-course and draw on the resources that will be constantly available to them to bring social change within their communities. Imagine Cup 2011

Religious Freedom Poetry Contest Winners
The Religious Freedom Poetry contest is officially over. The contestants were asked to submit a poem on the question of religion to mark Religious Freedom Day (January 16th) in the U.S. The entrants will be content to know that the judges have selected the top three poems. Congratulations to nehamschamaria, the first prize winner who receives a $100 Amazon.com gift certificate! Also, congrats to our two honorable mentions, ivyhopegirl and Simonette who will be awarded with a future publication in the Panorama Zine.
