TakingITGlobal's Executive Director Jennifer Corriero attended the World Economic Forum's Summit on the Global Agenda in Dubai last week, as a newly minted member of the Global Agenda Council on the Next Generation. As part of this Council and with a group of Young Global Leaders, Jennifer launched Youth Effect - a publication designed to assist decision makers on engaging with youth.

Best Buy recently awarded TakingITGlobal with an $85,000 donation as part of its @15 teen giving program. Teens vote every quarter, directing Best Buy's money towards four charities, and TakingITGlobal came in second place as one of the featured charities last quarter!

The TakingITGlobal Annual Report tracks the pulse of our progress over the 2009 fiscal year, and in addition to recognizing the generosity of our supporters and contributions of our many volunteers, it includes an introduction from HRH Crown Prince Haakon of Norway. The report also features major highlights and accomplishments across our program areas, along with an overview of our Theory of Change.

Pearson Social Innovation Fellows Selected!

At the World Innovation Summit for Education in Qatar, the Pearson Foundation and TakingITGlobal announced the first winners of the Pearson Fellowship for Social Innovation. Awarded to the most outstanding social entrepreneurship projects developed by graduates of TakingITGlobal's Sprout e-course, Fellows will receive cash grants of $1,000-$5,000 US, along with one-on-one mentoring from experienced social innovators, providing guidance as they implement their project plans.

GYCA Takes the Lead at the 2010 Vienna Youth Force Conference

With a strong commitment to advocacy and the development proactive policy initiatives, the Global Youth Coalition on HIV/AIDS continued its work through the Vienna AIDS conference to ensure that young leaders affected and infected with HIV were given the chance to be heard internationally during plenary and conference presentations.

Shout Partnership Launched with Microsoft and Smithsonian

TakingITGlobal, Microsoft, and the Smithsonian Institution have partnered to launch Shout, a new program that encourages teachers to use technology to help students explore, connect and act to address some of the world's most pressing environmental issues, while gaining important skills such as collaboration, critical thinking and social responsibility.
