    World Youth Congress

The 5th World Youth Congress gathered young people from around the world to meet in Istanbul, Turkey between July 31- August 13, 2010 to share ideas and solutions on issues such as culture, language, peace, and friendship. 'Peace is one of humanity's most precious needs' stated UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon and by officially declaring September 21 as International Day of Peace in 2002, the UN devotes the day to strengthening the importance of peace within and among all nations and peoples. International Year of Youth

In December 2009, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution proclaiming 2010-2011 as the International Year of Youth. The year started officially on August 12, International Youth Day, and will actually coincide with the 25th anniversary of the first International Youth Year in 1985. Vienna Youth Force

Young people had a big presence at the AIDS 2010 conference, which took place on July 18 - 23. The Vienna YouthForce created a space for international, regional and local HIV and AIDS-focused individuals and organizations to bring youthsexual and reproductive health and rights to the forefront. The youth pavilion in the Global Village featured panels, performances, films, music, the commitment desk and much more by representatives from various organizations from around the world. Y4PT is an organization created to share ideas, begin the conversation and create possibilities which empower the Youth to create solutions for public transport and related issues such as healthful living conditions, sustainable development, urban and rural exploitation, respect of social and environmental values). Within this context, they have introduced their first International Photo and Video Contest on Public Transport 2010.
