Microsoft Partners in Learning Asia Pacific and TakingITGlobal partnered to bring student voices to the Regional Innovative Education Forum (IEF) in Singapore.

At the forum, 16 exceptional students representing ten different Asia Pacific countries were selected to develop innovative education projects and to transform their dreams of a better world into projects that make a difference. Read more

During a must see presentation for TEDxTeen titled "Leadership: The Next Generation," Executive Director of TakingITGlobal Jennifer Corriero shares her ideas on who the next generation of leaders will be:

Spain awards TakingITGlobal for innovative work

On March 8th, 2010, TakingITGlobal received the Global Youth Talent Award. The regional government of Extremadura, Spain awarded TakingITGlobal for connecting and empowering youth around the world through technology and social media and for our organization's innovative work in the field of social entrepreneurship. TakingITGlobal is honored to receive this award, representing both recognition and support of TakingITGlobal's vision and mission by European leaders.

Team Member Interview: Ping-Ya Lee

Earlier this year TakingITGlobal selected a dynamic group of 15 interns to join our team at our Toronto Office. Ping-Ya Lee, part of this group, is working as TakingITGlobal's Program Co-ordinator for Tread Lightly, our environmental education program supported by the Staples Foundation for Learning. Ping-Ya graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies from York University. She holds a certificate in Ecological Landscape Design and has experience in community gardening, landscape design & environmental communications.

TakingITGlobal scores high marks for democratic practices

TakingITGlobal received news on April 13th that it scored high marks for its democratic organizational practices, and was one of 44 winners on World Blu's List of Most Democratic Workplaces for 2010. Winners of the award are selected through positive employee feedback and an evaluation of a company's ten principles of organizational democracy. This is TakingITGlobal's fourth consecutive year receiving this recognition! Principles central to TIG's successful internal democratic practices include transparency, dialogue and listening, and accountability.

TIG supporting four summer events!

This summer, TakingITGlobal is involved in running and supporting four different conferences and events! So far, we've been a partner in the G(irls)20 Summit during the G20, and Microsoft's Imagine Cup technology competition in Poland last week. This week TIG is co-hosting the iEARN Conference in Barrie, Ontario, bringing educators and students together with a Virtual Congress supported by Intelius. Next week in Vienna, Austria, during the third week of July, TIG's Global Youth Coalition on HIV/AIDS will be co-organizing the Vienna Youthforce for AIDS 2010.
