COP15 Special Edition TakingITGlobal's delegation at the COP15 United Nations Climate Change Conference has a lot to report back to the members of the TIG community. This is an update of the action at the conference, including Barack Obama's speech today at COP15, and an art contest to help you participate in making a difference! Watch the Opening Film of COP15. Additional videos are available here and here, from Sarah Toumi's blog, one of the TIG members at COP15! Many delegates participated in 'Young and Future Generations Day' on December 11th, marked by a demonstration showing the importance of the sustainability for our future.
Breaking News: Just hours ago, before the closing of the conference today, it was announced that the US, China, India, Brazil, and South Africa had reached an agreement that US President Obama called "meaningful and unprecedented", to limit warming to 2 degrees Celsius. The agreement isn't legally binding, something many had hoped for, hasn't been agreed to by other member states of the UN, and falls short of the 1.5 degree cap demanded by many threatened island nations.

Live Videoconference from COP15 TIG's delegation from Copenhagen, in collaboration with our partner The Centre for Global Education (TCGE), presented a live video conference to participating schools in the Tread Lightly program supported by the Staples Foundation for Learning. Designed to be an interactive and educational session for participants, the connection helped to create a dialogue on climate change by connecting eleven schools from the Americas with the TIG delegation at COP15. Participants discussed the challenges at the Conference and discussed matters like 'possible solutions,' and 'questions for world leaders' at two separate breakout sessions.

How Does Change Happen? The Greek philosopher Heraclitus once said, 'Nothing endures but change.' At TakingITGlobal, we strive to promote change for the better, and we often learn about making positive change through our members, and the work that we all do to make the world a more fair, just and sustainable place. In the spirit of change, and with the hope that it will take place at COP15, TakingITGlobal's Executive Director, Jennifer Corriero wrote 'How Does Change Happen?'. Leave a comment to let her know what change means to you! Jennifer also attended the Young Global Leaders talks in Copenhagen, joining forces with young change-makers from around the world to discuss and debate on sustainable ecological development for the future. Read all about it in Jennifer's blog.
