International Day for Tolerance Ever year on November 16th, people around the world come together to raise public awareness about the damages to society; due to intolerance. Violence, racism, and other acts of hate are things that do happen everyday, and this is the generation that will put a stop to it. This day functions as a reminder to everyone that we should treat each other as equals and live together in peace.

CYD-Poznan Launched! A diverse team of 28 young leaders (part of the Canadian Youth Delegation) will be going to Poznan, Poland in December to discuss climate change, and how more can be done to provide solutions that will benefit us all. The launch of the delegation website is exciting news at TIG because this site plays a key role in connecting this effort to our broader global youth community!

Panorama: Dialogue on Sexuality Our September 2008 issue of TIG's very own Panorama was centered around the theme of 'Dialogue on Sexuality'. In many communities, cultures, and households sexuality is a taboo subject, but sexuality is also part of being human. We asked TIG members just like you to submit their poems, interviews, opinions, and short stories based on this theme. We received many submissions, and some were even featured. Check out the popular opinion piece written by Chechemy (Mexico) entitled "A.sexual or A.ble?"

The Ethics of Development: Speak your mind Development is a huge term. Many of us work, volunteer, and support development projects. Development projects can include large international efforts like the IMF and World Bank's Structural Adjustment Programs, as well as local efforts like the Botswanan government's resettlement of the San from the Kalahari Game Reserve.
Have you ever experienced an ethical dilemma in your development work? Is there a project going on in your country or community that you have questioned? As youth, how can we ensure that future development projects are well-intentioned, have a positive impact, and are truly beneficial to the communities they are serving? The Editorial team here at Panorama invites all members to start brainstorming and discussing ideas that they have and to submit them for the upcoming issue of Panorama!

On November 4th, approximately 24 million 18-29 year olds cast ballots, more than in any election since 18 year olds won the right to vote in 1972. This historic election has proved to the world that youth are capable and have the power to change the world!
