Literacy DayLiteracy is a human right and an essential vehicle to personal, social, and human development. International Literacy Day is celebrated yearly on September 8th to remind the international community of the importance of literacy to achieve education for all. Did you know that there are an estimated 860 million adults who are illiterate? Get informed - you can start by reading more about literacy as a global issue. Humanitarian DayEvery year on August 19th, we recognize humanitarian workers who give life-saving assistance to all kinds of people in all corners of the world. On World Humanitarian Day, we acknowledge the importance of international cooperation and celebrate people helping people.
