    Traveling Art Exhibit

"Defining Moments: Discovering our Canadian Stories" is a Canadian digital media arts and citizenship project in partnership with Canadian Heritage. The project features a contest and collection that invited youth across the country in 2011-2012 to create and share artwork that expresses their identity and experiences living in Canada.

Before announcing our Defining Moments contest winners on Canada Day 2012, we are sharing a portion of our collection in four galleries across Canada throughout the month of June!

The June Exhibits are taking place in Toronto on Friday, June 8th; Friday, June 15th in both Vancouver and Halifax, and on Friday, June 22nd in Montréal and will feature a selection of entries from the outstanding variety of work that was submitted by young artists throughout the year.

Official winners of the Defining Moments contest will be announced on July 1st, 2012 and will mark the launch of the Travelling Exhibit, consisting of artwork that includes the 26 top entries.

Social Entrepreneurship Toolkit

Check out the newly released Change Inc. Social Entrepreneurship Toolkit, developed by Public Policy Forum in conjunction with TakingITGlobal. In tackling the numerous social problems we come across on an ongoing basis, young people are increasingly choosing an entrepreneurship model to help address these challenges in innovative and effective ways.

The final phase of Change Inc. involved the development of a toolkit for aspiring young social entrepreneurs. Using existing research and program frameworks, the toolkit aims to illustrate social enterprise basics, the economic value of social enterprises, and social enterprise incubators. It provides key ideas and lessons, as well as first hand experiences from young social entrepreneurs, in order to help potential ones address issues ranging from environmental sustainability, to youth enfranchisement. In addition, the toolkit showcases and highlights opportunities, challenges, trends, and further work in social entrepreneurship.
