been saying:
"One of the common ways for the spread of SARS virus is through droplet
infection, but not through air. So, you only need to wear a face mask..."
Kelvin Ling Hong Kong
"We can also educate each other with real knowledge about the disease. I have
started doing that myself and have made AIDS education part of my project."
Alexandra Govere, Zimbabwe
"In Nepal, out of every four youth one youth is mentally ill or depressed.
However, they can't express the reason of depression to others and, therefore,
cannot solve their problem and become depressed day by day..." Alok Shrestha,
Nepal
"I think it’s what's needed to jolt young people out of their illusions that
they can somehow get around the horrible diseases that cigarettes cause..."
Mikael Katz-Lavigne, Canada

~*~ Interpretations of Wellness and Illness ~*~
Submit your artwork, images, or photos to the Global Gallery contest on interpretations
of wellness and illness -- visit http://gallery.takingitglobal.org/contest/ to submit!
We encourage your submissions on the various health related issues and the
pictures that come into mind when you think about a healthy lifestyle.
Illustrate how your community has promoted healthier practices! How you have
been living and trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle: the food you eat? Are
they any cultural traditions to promote health? The submission that receives
the most votes will win a Hewlett-Packard Digital Camera, and runners up will
have their submissions featured on a postcard!
~*~ What's your Health Challenge? ~*~
Have you ever wanted to quit smoking or go on a diet? Have you been lacking motivation
to make your lifestyle healthier? Now you can find support from other TakingITGlobal
members. We have set up a special section of the site dedicated to the health challenges
our members decide to undertake. As you work towards achieving this personal health goal,
you keep track of your progress by posting updates about your challenge here:
http://takingitglobal.org/themes/health/challenge.html
You can also read about the progress of other TakingITGlobal members on the
Health Promotion theme page: http://takingitglobal.org/themes/health/
When you feel discouraged, read about how other members have overcome their
obstacles. Suggest ways for members to stay on track. This is your challenge,
and with the support of the TakingITGlobal community, you may be able to
achieve the healthy lifestyle you want!
~*~ GKP Youth Award ~*~
Have you used information communication technologies (ICT) to promote
development in your community? Then the Global Knowledge Partnership (GKP)
Youth Award may be for you. Through this award, the GKP aims to reward and
bring international recognition to the outstanding work of young people who
have used ICT for the promotion of development in their communities. We invite
submissions from youth led projects from all over the world.
